Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Baking sheet (notes: greased or lined with parchment paper)
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Lump crab meat
  • 1/4 cup Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp White wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Hot sauce
  • 1 tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Dried parsley
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp Butter notes: melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, gently combine all ingredients, being careful not to break up the crab meat too much.
  • Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized crab balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  • Chill the crab balls in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to help them hold their shape.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
  • Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

Pair with zesty dipping sauces like spicy mayo or tartar sauce. You can also customize the flavor by adding bell peppers, Cajun spices, or lemon zest.
